My Story, By Booba Frank

Homeless I wandered the streets
for months. So little to eat.

Past houses in cities so cold
and empty. "Go!", I was told.

So I wandered until I came
to a home that looked less plain.

I sensed others of my kind.
"Could it be?" came to my mind.

I sat on the porch and cried,
Said to myself, "Don't be shy."

And there in the door she stood,
woman in generous mood.

"Kitty? Kitty?", came a voice
filled with love. And my choice?

I went straight into her arms.
I knew I was safe from harm.

My forever home at last,
My wandering days are past.

Written in honor of my sweet cat, Booba Frank, who came to me last summer, after many, many months on the road. A beautiful black white Persian, obviously abandoned. The vet said he had been on the road close to a year. He is about 6 years old, and had FIV when he came to me. I kept him in isolation for two months, feeding him, fattening up, and loving him. Much to my joy, he recovered, and had a negative FIV test. Now he is part of my large cat family.
