Youth is a Leaf
Youth is like a leaf

Young and tender
clinging onto the life giver.

Growing ever larger,
casting its shadow.
Proud and ever strong,
yet still clinging in the swaying wind.

Feeling as though the world is yet unexplored,
floating free into the soft grass,
thinking that all will be well and never change.

With a sudden realization,
the tree is forever gone,
no longer is the leaf green.
