Alone without being lonely

                                       I sit pondering.
Is there really someone for everyone?
How can a shattered person know?

Learning to conquer all those silly,
insecurities brought on with the follies of youth.

Recalling, times when I was sure,
                                       every minute spent alone
would bring about death from loneliness.

I now have, joy in silence.
I have made friends with the person in the mirror.
