Distance
In the end the guy who died was the one that gave me his heart.

Distance (1998)

There he stands out in the snow
Never, ever could he know
The fire which inside me grows
The inferno of a love in vain.

Hoping still, I reach for him.
Praying he will take me in.
Knowing what a foolish game.
It is that I am playing.

Wanting words as soft as lies.
Not knowing what I’ll find.
If I could always meet his eyes.
And the truth could be revealed.

And I wish I could only know.
The answers I am seeking.
Panic and nerves flying loose at any hour.
Hide me from greeting you.

So there I stand in silence.
Reaching for a dead man’s hand.
And by and by it disappears.
Leaving me to my tears.
