FREE RENT??

FREE RENT??

You just think you're renting
space in my head because of
who you are! Never mind that
that is sacred space; priceless
territory! You should be
going after the space in my heart
instead--I am after yours. Just
beause we are married
now, that doesn't necessarily mean
we are on the same wavelength,
or even on the same planet!
Just because we were college
sweethearts, long ago, that
still doesn't get you free rent!
It's the tenderness with which
we love each other that does it,
despite everything crazy
that has happened.around us,
in our world. Lookking at it
that way, I guess the rent
should be free, after all!
