Ode To The Journey Of A Leaf
You jumped with the wind. You left the womb of your ancient mother, standing tall, tower of stunning beauty, soaked in Oak wisdom. Dancing lightly, freely, your rustic green, Emerald in the eyes of the Gaels, glided majestically, eternal perpetual motion. You touched a kiss upon the crawling river, and I witnessed every move of your captivating dance. I watched you engage your new home. I heard your brothers and sisters cries as the wind passed through with a message of goodbye, and as I pondered, my mind made a home in the juice of your stem and I came with you, together as one, onward journey, alive, free. We sat together, still, resting lightly, a thin raft on the crawling river, gently adrift, peaceful harmony on a journey passing ancient roots of towering trees, and the reeds, givers of sweet calm euphony, sway together, an orchestrated community, and we gently pass by, listening to the softness of the music, at one in the heart of nature's life given breath. We pass the starry eyed ancient trout who looks for wisdom amongst the gravel of the river's soft bed, bidding us farewell he sits still and ponders; birds nosily rustle the trees in ecstasy of the setting sun, crickets and frogs in the dying of a ruby red sun, bellow a mystic voice to the banks of the pumping vein of life with an Autumn evening's hymn. As the face of the rising moon nestles in the heart of the pale night sky, casting the glory of its light, shimmering upon the crest of the waters edge, we drift gently to the vast jaws of the welcoming ocean, and beneath the glistening of the countless stars, we drift softly into the calm heart of the sea, together as one, onward journey, alive, free.
