Resisting the Tidal Wave
Pre-emptive nostalgia for someone I haven't yet lost.

This item has no ratings.
You drifted in on an autumn leaf,
and we didn't know what to think.
Trailing devastation and excitement like a ribbon
you flooded the walkways with noise.

Don't wanna be like you!
I can hear the clang of inevitability.
You're like electricity,
(no one loves electricity)
you're the spark of change.

And I'm staring down the barrel of a gun
and I don't know what I'm doing
and I know that you won't come.

You're like a tidal wave,
swept me fully off my feet.
I'll try to swim, I'll try to float,
don't want the rocks and me to meet.

You're like a tidal wave,
and I don't know if that's bad
or if it's good

but I'm gonna miss your flood.
