Welcome Letter for Focus Forum

Welcome to the Novel Focus Group!

I created this group for the many people on WDC who have written novels and need feedback on the novel as a whole. Or maybe you have a problem area in your novel and want several people to focus on just that area.

Every month, one of the group's members will have their novel showcased for reading. Every member must provide at least one feedback post in the forum for that novel. Ideally, each member will read the entire novel, but even if the member doesn't finish the novel, a feedback post is still required to be an active member. Each member must be active for at least three months before their novel will be posted for feedback.

If a novel is posted that has a rating you aren't comfortable with, please email me and let me know. You will be excused from reading that novel, although you may be assigned another member's novel.


In your post, please address these issues:

1) Whatever the author requested
2) plot
3) characters
4) setting
5) grammar

You may comment on anything else you feel is relevant.

Your feedback must be posted in the forum with the subject line: Feedback: (Title). If you are commenting on individual chapters, include that in the subject line, as: Feedback: (Title, chapters #-#).Many authors also like to have the review emailed to them.

In your first post in the forum, introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your novel(s). When you post the novel item/entry number, also include the novel's rating. If you have a book cover illustration, you may also include the image number.
