Footloose

Had to climb over mountains

and touch the sky

had to fall dwon deep

when I thought I could fly.

Had to meet random strangers

and take their advice

just to prove I was wrong

when I thought I was wise.

Had to wander through darkness

and fear I was blind

had my eyes mislead

to trust my own mind.

Had to listen to silence

afraid of noise

to come out louder

and to hear my own voice.

Had to cross rocky pathways

and the roaring sea

to stop swimming and drown

and come out as me.
