It was a long bus ride to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago from North Chester Middle School. It was for a beginning of the year class field trip and an opportunity to check out the new exhibit in the museum. The whole class in general wasn't excited about getting a teaching outside of school, but at least they weren't in school learning it. Most of the kids were on the bus talking with their friends, chewing gums, and trying to get a quick snooze before they arrived, and yet seven individuals in the very back were sort of excited. Two of the teens just so happen to be major science geeks and they knew more than the teachers did sometimes, but didn't show off. They were the brains of their little group with Kevin, an African America who wears glasses and wears a long sleeve shirt that says "Knowledge is Power", and Marie, a mixed Asian with noticeable long, black hair with blood red streaks flowing down it and a color theme with black, red, and white clothes. From the time they left the schoolyard about 30 minutes ago they talked on and on about the exhibits and how cool it's suppose to be. Their friends didn't minded though because that who they were, science geeks. While the two nerd couple continues talking about the science exhibit, the twins, Daniel and Ashley, were in thought about the whole tour. After all, their parents did just so happen to work there for a living and they were pretty eggheads. Ashley stared out at the hot window with her ocean blue eyes just wondering what was going to happen and this 'so call' great new exhibit. She heard a lot about it at home but they never went into details because it would ruin the surprise. She was still being teased with her parents, being new to the family after discovering her brother about a year ago at the mall. Her brother would return the empathy on occasions but prefer staying out of the picture and more so in he's baseball career.
"Don't you guys think it's weird that your parents work at a museum that we're going to? I mean, come on. My parents have cooler jobs than that," replied Brittany from behind. She was the rebellious one of the group and the youngest official member to join. Her look was just as outstanding as Marie was her long, blonde hair with red and black streaks and a long sleeve shirt and pants to match. She was also the sarcastic one of the group and usually takes authority lightly. "It's OK I guess," Daniel replied back. "You just get use to it and it doesn't really bother you." "Says the kid you gets B-'s and C+'s and your parents are scientists. I guess the smart gene skips a kid or two in your generation huh?" she smirked back. He would've tackled her for saying that remark, but he knew better not to fight with anyone, especially girls or he could get kicked off the team. He wasn't the star-player but he was very important on the team. "Would you quit it Brittany?" S.J. asked. Samara J. (S.J.) would usually be the referee when he and Brit got into their little fights. She always had a soft spot for Daniel in her heart which could be surprising for a person who looks Goth. "Yeah Brit. You're not even his sister and you two fight more than Ashley does with him," said S.J. opposite, Samara E. Other than their beginning name, they are complete opposites. S.J. bearing smiled, Samara E. glowed the room up (well, at the moment, the bus.) S.J. dressed in was looks like Goth clothes; Samara E. would wear bright, light blue clothes. S.J.'s naturally purple eyes made her look like an outcast with her pale skin and Samara E.'s electric blue eyes and blonde hair made her look like the most popular girl in school. Too bad it's not true. The gang as a whole was different from one another but that's why they were friends and will always remand friends. "All right class, settled down now," announced their homeroom teacher, Mr. Isaac. All of the kids either respected him or fear him because he was fair but firm. The only one who had neither for him was Brittany and she didn't care. "We will be arriving there shortly so let's go over the ground rules. No talking while the tour is going on. No chewing gum or having any food or drinks in the museum until we have lunch around noon. All cell phones are to be turned off. And lastly, we represent our school so no horseplay or there will be consequences, understand?" "Yes Sir!" everyone answered in unison as they began to put up there belonging up so it wouldn't be taken up. "This is so exciting! I can't believe we're some of the first people to see this new exhibit!" Marie squealed. "No kidding! There's a rumor going on that their experimenting with human genes to see if they can create perfect superhuman," explained Kevin. "Oh come on Kevin, that’s just all sci-fi stuff. I don't think that can really happen," denied Ashley. Daniel started to ruffle that long black hair of hers saying, "Oh ye of little faith, Ash. You're starting to sound like Peter." "Well I didn't hear a rooster croaking at sun rise so I must be safe," she joked back. The twins laughed as they made their biblical joke of the day. They would usually do that even so often that sometimes the gang would join in, except Brittany who would roll her eyes in boredom. The bus suddenly came to a crawling stop at the museum and everyone was eager to get out of the bus. "OK everyone. Single file line, no shoving!" called Mr. Isaac. His voice was like an amazing projector that can amplify from a low baritone voice to a loud tenor in an instant. Everyone did as they were told and everyone got off the bus in plenty of time to begin the tour on time. Once again, he explained the ground rules and made sure that everyone was in a group and the groups had a chaperone to guide them when them split up to go on separated tours. At least they were able to choose their own group, so whatever social class you were in was your group; the nerds, geeks, poplars, jocks, wannabes, Goths, the outcasts, rebels, and the remainders, the sevens. It started out with a group walk together around the museum before they were split up and their tour guide was Miss Namiko. She's an assistant for Mr. and Mrs. Davidson, the twin’s parents, and always like having children around so she could pass on the knowledge. "Welcome to the Museum of Science and Industry, we have much to show you and want to warn you that there is some remodeling going on around here and a couple of off-limits areas. But that won't stop us to show you what's going on and still get a learning experiences." Everyone followed her as they walked around the museum and looking at interesting and exciting sites. She talked about the new Green House that was suppose to up and running by the beginning of 2009, creating new inventions for the future, and a look into the past with a U-505 submarine. Of course, only some of the information was absorbed by there mind while most of it was lost on the latest gossip and what's for lunch. It felt like a few minutes but was actually about an hour past before Miss Namiko asked, "Does anyone have any questions?" Everyone looked around to see if anyone would dare to raise their hands and that someone was Ashley. "Uh, yes. Where it the new exhibit my parents have been talking about?" she asked politely. A couple of the classmates started to giggle because everyone knew that the twins parents works here and were surprised that they didn't show to embarrass them yet. "That's a very good question Ashley. However, it would be better from them to explain it rather than myself." She went to a phone to call up Dr. Maxwell and Sarah Davidson to come by the Omnimax. No sooner than later, the parents of Daniel and Ashley Davidson arrived to greet the students and bonded with their offspring’s for a little while. "Well hello everyone. I'm Mrs. Davidson and this here is my husband, Dr. Davidson and we are here to answer any questions you may have." Once again, Ashley raised her hand so she would get called on. "Yes sweetie?” she asked kindly. "Hi mom. I was just wondering about that special exhibit you and dad were talking about." "The exhibit unfortunately is still under construction and is still off-limits 'til further notice," Dr. Maxwell explained. He wasn't the type of guy who enjoyed giving bad news but would do so for an emergency. The science geeks and nerds were a little disappointed to hear the news but were a little happy to still have a little free time after lunch. Then Mr. Isaac announced to the class, "All right class, now it's lunchtime and after that we will break into our groups." So while everyone rushed to the cafe with their lunches alright packed, the seven teenagers stayed behind with the older caregivers. They didn't matter, in fact, to the rest of their friends they were like second parents. Kevin didn't know his birth mother and father so he lived with his nana and papa, Marie and Samara E. were separated from their parents at a young age, S.J. was an orphan at birth, and Brittany's parents were on the Most Wanted List in the world. So they always enjoyed the Davidson's. While eating their lunch, Kevin and Marie kept popping questions after questions about the science fields, their top-secret projects, and other mind-boggling facts that even challenged for the scientists. Brittany was the first to finish her lunch and took a little self-tour without any supervision. Still haven't notice Brittany's absents yet, the Davidson's left their children and friends to talk among them so they could get back to work. After an hour passed by, Mr. Isaac announced that lunch was over and they were to get into their groups and start touring around. By some weird coincidence, there weren't enough chaperones to be with the twin's group, but since their parents worked here and they were excellence students in his class, he let them go out on their own. They started to head towards the theater but then they realized that they were missing somebody. "Hey, did anyone know were Brittany is?" asked Marie. They all looked around and couldn't believe they overlooked her. "Oh no, what kind of trouble is she going to get into this time?" whined Samara. "Well we better find her before..." Kevin started before he was interrupted. It was like a faint voice from behind him. She waving her arms to get their attention and pointed to a door saying, "Over here." Of course they followed her, not knowing the transformation that was about to take place. Apparently while she was strolling around on her own, she spotted the secret exhibit that the parents have been hiding about. The only logical thing to do was go in and see what was going on. The seven curios teenagers enter the room with extreme caution knowing they weren't suppose to be in here in the first place. But what harm is it to just take a peek? "So this is what your parents have been hiding from you? I would’ve expected something cooler," Brittany questioned not sounding a bit impressed. "What do you think we're in, Area 51?" Daniel replied back in an anger tone. He and Brittany have been battling it out since the second day they met and he was almost at his breaking point. "Come on guys, just relax. Beside, we shouldn't be in here anyways," pointed out Ashley. Both of the Samara's agreed but the science nerds were in awe at the equipment and Brittany was starting to get a little rough with Daniel. She knew he would never put up a good enough fight to save his life and used that as her advents. "Oh relax, Ash. There aren't any cameras in here and because we're with you and D here, they won't go searching for us." She did have a point and they didn't like it. The grown-up did trust Daniel and Ashley well enough to stay out of trouble in their parent’s work place, and they rarely set up any cameras so they really wouldn't get caught. Marie and Kevin were observing the equipment here and they noticed a warning label reading, "DANGER! USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION! HIGH TOXIC RADIATION!" "Uh guys, you better come and see this," warned Kevin. "Yeah, like NOW!" The whole gang rushed to the chamber and read the label. However, Brittany just shoved it off and didn't care. Daniel became hot with her again and they had their shouting fights again. Without meaning to, he shoved her to the wall and knocked down some of the supplies. Nothing broken and it was a sound-proof room so that too was working for them, but nothing could save him from an enraged Brittany. He tried to apologize to her but she ended up returning the favor by pushing him towards the chamber of radiation. S.J. got as far away from them as she could while ending up by a fireplace and a jar of unknown substances and Samara E. was reluctantly right by an electricity generator. While Ashley was trying to break-up the fight, Kevin and Marie made note that something bad was about to happen any second now, and they were right. When Brittany pushed Daniel towards the chamber, it had experimented radiation gases that was a key factor in unlocking the "superhuman" gene in humans. A barely audible sounded came from the chamber and then started to release the gases. Surprisingly though, it was colorless and odorless, so nobody really notice it. It the process of the gas being released; S.J. opened the mystery, black substances while by an open fire, Samara E. was being shocked by the generator, Ashley was still being unnoticed by Daniel and Brittany, Marie was stuck with some sticky substance, Kevin almost started a mental breakdown, and both Daniel and Brittany were pushing their strength to the limit with Daniel finally gaining the upper hand. Finally, Ashley managed to break the two up and then started to notice that everyone looked a little sick, except for Samara who looked more alerted than sick. Starting to pant and sweat, she yelled, "Alright, it's over! Now let's get out of here before we get into any more trouble. Everyone agreed this time and they made sure it was how it was when they came in here. They took a quick look outside to make sure no one saw them and headed straight for the cafe feeling sick inside, and it wasn't the guilt. After everyone was done looking around the museum and said good-bye to everyone there, they headed towards the bus and back home. Mr. Isaac complimented the class on their behavior and made should there will be a reward in the future. Until then, the class entertained themselves to keep busy except the seven kids in the back. They were all asleep and in deep thought on what just happened. Neither of them was ready or expected an extraordinary change that was taking in place in their bodies. Once they arrived at school, it was already over soon everyone gather their belonging from the school lockers and headed home. Usually the gang would walk home and go their separate ways, Kevin going to his nana and papa apartment downtown, Marie and Samara E. would head over to the orphanage, S.J. would follow Daniel and Ashley home 'til her adapted parents called her, and Brittany would go to her parent’s apartment. However, they got out their cell-phones and asked for a ride home, and since the parents were still working Amber, the twins older sister, would drive them home. When she picked them up, she realized that they would unusually quiet today. "Hey, are you guys OK? You seem quiet today and a little pale," she asked out of concern. It wasn't like any of them to not talk, especially Brittany who sometimes had a ''mouth of trouble''. Everyone was dropped off at their detonation and Davidson's finally arrived at their huge apartment. The two teenagers threw their backpacks on the floor and both crashed on the couch face-down. Amber had no idea what was going on with her little twin brother and sister and wanted to try and help them. Too bad she didn't know what the problem was and neither did they. "Come on guys. The field trip couldn't have been that bad, even with mom and dad being there. So what's going? Trouble in school?" she questioned. "No Amber, it wasn't the fieldtrip and it wasn't even mom or dad," Ashley groaned. "We've just been having these weird headaches since the trip," replied Daniel. Ashley interrupted, "I've been having stomach-aches." "And yet it's like we're having both," they said in unison. Amber couldn't help but giggle at her little bro and sis. They literally shared a mental and empathy link with each other since birth, even though they were separated at birth. "Well maybe you guys should relax until mom and dad come home," she suggested. She then left them on the couch to collect themselves while she went to cook dinner. "AAWWW!" Ashley yelled. "Ash, we need to call the guys to see if their going through the same thing," Daniel pointed out. "You know we probably wouldn't even be in pain if we didn't follow Brit into that death trap," she angrily whispered. They were about to call the gang when their cell phones and the home phone started to ring. Kevin was on Daniel's cell and he and S.J. were explaining to him that they were having major headaches when they arrived home, so they were coming over there A.S.A.P. Samara E. and Marie were on Ashley's cell explaining to her that they felt dizzy since the trip and she convinced them to come over as well. Finally, Amber answered the house phone saying that it was Brittany and she was having migraines and was coming over there as soon as she could. She wanted to ask what was going on, but they just shrugged their shoulders. When the friends knocked on the door, they quickly opened it and all rushed up-stairs to they room. Kevin and Marie being the science kids they are took on the problems as logical as they could. "OK," Kevin started out. "Neither of us have felt the same since the trip to the OFF-LIMITS ROOM. Now how their affecting us may be different so let's start from there." "I've felt burning hot and can't really stand the sunlight. Can someone please block the sun?" S.J. snarled. It wasn't like her to feel so against the sun and preferring the darkness. Sure she has pale skin but that didn't mean anything. "Here, let me see if this is real or she faking it," stated Brittany. She put her hand on her forehead and like an extremely hot oven or hot-plate; it burned her bad enough to leave a mark on her hand. "OOWWW! DARN YOU!" she screamed quickly pulling her hand away from the fire girl head. "It's OK. I'll get a wet towel for her forehead," offered Samara E. She always wanted to help out to a friend in need but she didn't know yet that water wasn't her friend anymore. She grabbed the closest cloth in the kitchen and started to run cool water on it. After a few seconds have passed, she turned off the water, rung out the extra water and received the shock of her life. It felt like she stuck a wire into an outlet with wet hands, the electricity just went straight into her body. But for some unknown reason, the electricity didn't bother her, it was the water. The moist towel leaped out of hand and she raced up-stairs to tell the gang what happened. Panting in disbelief and still a little shuck up, she told the gang her amazing discovery that at first no one believed it. "But I'm telling you guys the truth. I touched the water and I saw electricity coming out of my hands. And I wasn't near any electrical items. I'm not joking." "Things just aren't making any sense," pondered Kevin. "It's like the radiation is affecting us differently, but how?" thought Marie. "Before we jump into any conclusion about the radiation and was happened to us, we have to put the facts together" Marie stared at Kevin, brown eyes vs. brown eyes, wondering why he brought up the subject of radiation. She didn't say anything, she just thought it, which made her wondered. "WE'RE HOME!" called some familiar voices. The Davidson's made home just in time for dinner, so the teenagers pushed the subject out of their heads. They were having pot roast for dinner and they weren't expecting the five other teenagers to join them or Amber's long-time boyfriend, Derrick. He just got out the Navy and he was planning a surprise visit for them. He was very surprised when he realized that he wasn't alone. The dinner table was filled with his recent adventures and how he plans on another year or so before retiring and settling down and the parents were OK with that. They knew that him and Amber have been talking about marriage and saying their full support in it. While the grown-up were chattering up a storm, nobody really notice that the kids weren't really touching their food and they all lefted immediately after they were excused. They still didn't know what was happening or was going to happen to them as Kevin paced around the twin's room. Brittany decided to take a good look at the burn mark again because she felt the pain quickly disappear. She took a real good look at it and realized that the once big, hot red circle mark on her hand was now a tiny dot that disappeared back in front of her eyes. In complete shock and disbelief, she tried to get over it like nothing happen. Then the migraines started too settled in again. "Uhhh, please just go away!" she groaned. Everyone was really started to get annoyed so they just decided to sleep on it. Daniel and Ashley made it to their bunk beds, Ashley on top, Daniel on bottom, and everyone else made room on the room with some extra sleep-bags. In a few minutes, everyone was out like a light. The parents checked up on everyone to see how their were doing and noticed that everyone was sound asleep. Usually having friends over on the school night wasn't their thing, but seeing how they were already sleeping they didn't wake them up. They kissed their children on the forehead and called the adults of the others saying, "Everything is alright. They're with us." Too bad they didn't know what was really going on. That very night, an amazing change started to occur in every individual on a DNA changing level. It seem like the radiation mixed well with the African American mutant blood and was expanding his mind to impossible limits. Like jolts of electricity shock into his mind absorbing much information on what was taking place. In the Asian girl’s body, her body was adjusting to its new form as her skin slowly started to stretch out and her hands becoming increasingly sticky. With the naturally blonde, the shocks of electricity were becoming more and more intense with every heart beat and she felt like a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode at any given moment. The outcast, purple eyes girl felt her body temperature rising with every heart beat itself from a normal 97.6 to an unbelievable over 200 and still going, but she soon became use to it and it didn't really seem to bother her anymore. The twins and Brittany transformation weren’t as smoothly as their friends though. With the black hair, ocean blue eyes male, his muscles started to tense and swell up as will as a heating tingling in his hands and feet. He also felt his bones becoming denser and skin turning into what felt like a human diamond. With the black hair, ocean blue eyes female the changing were different. Instead of heavy changes, it was more lighten. Her bones became a little lighter and her skin felt like it was slipping of her bones. Actually, her whole body collapsed under complete relaxes and didn't even notice that she fell from the top bunk to the bottom of the living-room floor. And the rebellious gal, the transformation happened in the inside. Her bones slowly started to denser harder and harder until it wasn’t even real bones but metal! With the metal came dagger-like claws starting to form in her under hand and her feet as the pain started to grow but then cooled down again. Her muscles started to tense up as well but not very showing like Daniel’s was. Her final transformation ended with her eyes as the melanin start to change dramatically from an emerald green to a bright yellow cat like eyes. When they wake up in the morning, none of them are going to believe their eyes. When morning arrived, the light rays hit the entire room and everyone slowly arose from their slumber. Usually the guys would be the first ones up, managed to wake-up the girls, and Brittany wouldn't get up until 30 minutes before the bus arrived. However, today was very different. When Daniel was about trying to wake-up Ashley he notices that the bed was empty, but the sheets were laying there like she never moved. "Hey, does anyone know were Ashley is?" he asked. "Try down-stairs on the couch," said a faint whisper. "Why would she be on the couch?" he wondered as he went to go check down-stairs. That wasn't the only surprised in the morning, though. Brittany has actually been up and was already dress and ready to go. S.J. took a really hard look at her to make sure that it was Brittany and not some evil twin. "Is that you, Brit?" "Yeah. Believe it or not, I've been up seen about midnight," she explained. "It's like after getting those couple hours of sleep, I was fully regenerated and I couldn't fall back to sleep no matter how hard I tried. So around 5am I just decided to get dress and be ready for once." She was in shock! Nobody could sleep-in like Brittany and now she's developed some type of insomnia. Then she realize that Samara E. was still in her sleep-bag and decided to wake her up so she wouldn't become what Brittany use to be. As she slowly walked towards her bag, she noticed a bunch of static electricity around her. She just ignored it and thought the worst that could happen was getting a light to mild shock. However once she touched her, like was like a lighting bolt coming out of her body in self-defense. That major discharge caused her to fly across the room and shake a little because of the electricity in her body. "What the... What just happened?" stuttered a shuck up S.J. A faint moan came from the sleep-bag as Samara E. finally came out, not realizing was just happened. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and saw that S.J. was staring at her straight in the eyes with an anger glare. "What? What did I do?" she questioned. "YOU SHOCKED ME!" screamed a red face S.J. "What the heck were you thinking? You could've killed me with that electricity!" "What electricity?" she laughed not believe S.J. Then were she looked at her hands, she realize that they were not the usually bear hand but had a ball a lighting in her palms. She didn't believe it and neither did S.J. but they saw it with their own eyes. Just then, another powerful discharge of electricity was released and it surrounded the whole room! It was like the room was in the middle of a lighting storm with sparks flying everywhere and zapping everything in sight. "How do I turn this off?!" screamed a panicking Samara E. "I don't know. Just calm down I guess." And that's what she did. After taking a few deep breaths, the lighting in the room calm down and everything was at peace. Panting, sweating, and in complete shock, S.J. asked the lighting girl if she was alright. She replied back yes and even said that it didn't hurt or shock her at all. It liked her body allowed the electricity to flow through her and even discharge it. "Man the gang isn't going to believe this," replied Samara E. "Why don't you get ready first so we don't miss school?" suggested S.J. She nodded and went into the bathroom to get ready. "What the heck was that?" questioned Brittany. Even though she saw the whole thing from a corner of the room, she was in disbelief. Then she quickly turned her attention towards the bedroom door because she thought she heard footsteps. She opened the door a realized that no one was there until a few seconds later when Daniel and Ashley were racing up the stairs. They were having one of their very rare fights and Brittany didn't want to miss this. "I can't believe you guys did that!" she yelled. "Did what?" answered back a confused brother. "Put me down-stairs while I was sleep. I went to bed on a nice, soft top bunk and woke-up on the cold wooden floor. And I know I didn't sleep walk because I never do." "Well I'm sorry to hear that Ash, but it wasn't me." Then they turned their eyes on a snickering Brittany but confessed that she had nothing to do with it. Everyone else got dress for school and they rushed down-stairs for breakfast. As an athletic, Daniel had a sort what big appetite and a fast metabolism. It seemed like today his appetite increased greatly by eating all of the food that would've feed the entire gang. "Slow down, bro before you get another stomach-ache," replied Ashley. "Sorry Ash, just a little hungry this morning." "That's an understatement," whispered Brittany. "It's cool, we can just get something edible at school," thought Marie. "Well we might as well before we're late for the bus, come on guys," requested Kevin. Marie couldn't help to feel that Kevin has been one step ahead of her since yesterday. She was starting to wonder if he was actually in her head. The gang was heading out to the bus stop, S.J. was the first to realize something different was Daniel. He and Ashley were the same height since the first day they met, 5'4, and now see that he's about two inches taller than her now. Not only that, but his frame was now more bulky than the average baseball player. He workout but not like a bodybuilder, which is what he looks like now. Then she remembers what Kevin and Marie were talking about, with the radiation and it suppose to unlock some superhuman gene. "Do you really think that?" he asked a startled S.J. She didn't say anything, she just thought it. What if...? Once the gang arrived at school, things went from weird to freaky thought out the entire day. In science class, Brittany and S.J. were partners for a little science experiment that was dealing with a hotplate and water. It wasn't the most exciting things to do but if you're luck, you could burn someone without the teacher knowing. They just received some brand-new hotplates that worked extremely well but unfortunately, there wasn't enough for everyone in the class. So a couple of unlucky group’s received the nearly ancient piece of junk that barely worked. The two girls made a wrong choice in choosing because they ended up with one the scrap, rusted metal hotplates. When they tried to turn on the knob, it fell off and even after they managed to heat it up, it took forever for it to even get warm. "Man this is taking forever," complained Brittany. "I wish we could speed this up somehow," suggested S.J. As they say in life, be careful what you wish for. She placed her hand on the hotplate and unknowingly started to rise the temperature of the water up. Brittany saw that the water was starting to boil, but then she remember that she unplugged the hotplate in frustration. "S.J.?" warned Brittany. Once she realized what she was doing, she started to panic and in that, accidently grabbed Brittany's right hand and it started to burn, bad. So bad that the fire wasn't even the usually colors; fire orange, bright yellow, and hot red, but actually coal black and eggplant purple! When the teacher came back into the room, he realize that one of the students was on the ground with her burnt hand and another one trying to comfort her. He quickly wrote out a nurse's pass and gave it to the unfortunate student to get her there as soon as possible. S.J. assisted her and as they ran towards the nurse's office, Brittany stopped for some unknown reason. "Brittany what are you stopping for? We have to get you to the..." she stopped in mid-sentence as she started to stare at her hands. When S.J. burned her hand, it left a deep black mark that covered her whole right hand and even started to developed bruises. Now it was like her skin cells immediately replaced the burnt marks new, softer skin and within a few second it disappeared. No marks, no burns, not even a scratch was lefted on her hand. Brit moved her hand back and front to make sure that she wasn't dreaming and if she could've believed her eyes. "OK, now THAT'S freaky! How did you do that?" exclaimed S.J. "Do what?" she asked in denial. "THAT?! You just recovered from a third-degree burn that would've lasted for days. How?" (Brittany looking that the author: "We've been asking a lot of questions lately, smarts. Pick up the pace will you?") "I didn't think it, it just happened. Like an involuntary reaction I guess," she responded. "Oh man, the gang isn't going to believe this," said S.J. "Considering what they're about to go through throughout the day, this wouldn't be much of a surprise to them," mumbled Brittany. "What?" "Nothing." The girls decided to kill some time in the girl’s bathroom to make up the fact they didn't need to go to the nurse anymore. And this it only the beginning for the transforming teenagers. It wasn't until science class when Kevin started to have headaches and wasn't able to make out what the teacher was saying. It was like thousands and thousands of whispers in his head that weren't his and he couldn't really make them out. And then the voices became louder and louder until he begged the teacher for a bathroom pass. She accepted his emergency, so she pulled out a little pass and handed it over to Kevin. He was in so much pain that he just grabbed that pass and ran like there was no tomorrow. "Man, where are these voices coming from?" he thought trying to figure out which one was his. The voices just ran together like mash clay and he couldn't even walk straight. Suddenly, he heard some footsteps coming down like an adult teacher with high heels. Even though he has a pass, he still didn't want to get caught in the hallways by himself. "I need to get out of here quick," he thought to himself. If you saw him and you didn't blink, you could say he looked like static on a tv in his figure and disappeared like a flash of light. When he reappeared, he ended up in the boy's bathroom with no one in it, to his relieve. However, he was very shaky that he just teleported like that as if it was his naturally instincts. Slowly, he walked towards the sink to splash him walk and try to put together what just happened. "OK," he started, "There were voices in my head and I could read or hear them. Then I came from the hallway to here without running or even opening the door. What else could go wrong?" He asked for it. With a flick of his hands while trying to dry them off, he ended up opening the entire bathroom stalls door without touching them! He was surprised but at the same time wasn't. It was like he done this before but doesn't remember any of it. "Man the gang isn't going to believe this," he said just before exiting the restroom. At least the voices weren't in his head anymore, but how his he going to explain this to his friends? It wasn't until passing period before lunch Samara E. got herself into another shocking situation. She just got out of gym class and she was really thirsty after running laps all day. She waved good-bye to a couple of her classmates and spotted a nearby water fountain. "See you guys later," she waved. "OK, bye Samara," called another one of her classmates. She casually walked towards the fountain and pushes the water so ice, cold water could press on her lips while she received her sip. Instead the cool feeling though, she received a major electricity shock that literally threw her cross the room. Luckily, she was alone in the gym so no one saw her. Then she felt the same exploding experience in the apartment only at the gym, but the main difference here was that this time she was actually floating a few inches in the air because she had so much electricity. The gym room suddenly became darker and darker and she became lighter and lighter with blue lighting surrounding her. After a couple of minutes in the air, the lighting in her body slowly started to store itself in her body as she landed back on the ground smoothly. "Oh God, what just happened?" she asked herself. "It's just like what happened back at the twin's place. Oh man, the guys aren't going to believe this." Samara managed to pull herself together and hurried off to lunch so she wouldn't be penalized for being late and gets a detention. Once she arrived, she realized that the twins were the only ones at the table so far, by the front door so it wasn't that hard to spot them. Neither of them had their lunches yet so she assumed that they had something very important to tell them. Eventually, Kevin walked in, sort of stumbling in; behind him was Marie with her head staring dead straight at her palms; Samara E. with that painfully shaky look and motion; and lastly the duo, S.J. and Brittany following in closely behind with a confused look on their faces. Daniel and Ashley looked at each other knowing that there was trouble with their friends. The rest of the gang gathered around the table in a tight circle so no one could really hear what they were saying. "OK, has anything been going on with any of you lately?" Marie questioned. Everyone nodded in agreement. "So where do we begin?" asked Ashley. "Well..." both Samaras’ replied twisting their hairs.”We do." "What?" "This morning I was trying to wake up Samara E. here and I saw electricity surrounding her sleepy bag. At first I thought it was nothing but boy was I wrong," S.J. stated. "She shocked me and I'm not talking about static shock, but like lighting shooting out of her hands!" "Wow!" the gang whispered in awe. "Yeah but because of that, I can't even get a sip of water without shocking myself," said Samara E sadly. "You got off easy though, girl. I nearly got killed twice today. Once in the room with electricity girl here and burnt badly with fire gal," she pointed towards the two girls. The friends were a little confused when she said that because she didn't have any burnt or electricity marks on her. Then they explained to them the story what happened with them in science class to make it sounded more believable. This didn't help much thought because wounds usually don't heal up that quick and even if they did, there would be a mark left from the scare. "We're telling you the truth. All I did was this..." and with that, S.J. placed her hands on Brittany's back hand and smoke started to come from it. She wanted to scream but that would only draw attention to them, so she held it in as much as she could. She took her hand off of Brittany's and they watched the miracle in action. There was another black mark like last time, and the same thing happened again. The black mark slowly started to become less and less visible and within a few seconds later, it was completely gone. Everyone blinked a couple of times before replying the same thing, "Wow." Suddenly, Brittany's eyes quickly changed colors, from emerald green to bright yellow, and stayed that way for a short time while she stared blankly at the gang. "Are you alright, Brit? You seem out of it." questioned Daniel. Just because they didn't always get along, he would still try to help her if needed. A minute went by and her reply was shocking. "Pop quiz today in math class for everybody and D better be careful with himself if he doesn't want to get caught by the coach. And Ashley, don't pinned the blame on someone just because you woke up down stairs. Maybe you just phased down it yourself." It was like she was in a trace because the whole time she didn't blink and then laid her hand down on the table with a loud, THUMP. After a few deep breaths, she woke up and was back to her usually self. "So, what did I miss?" she asked curiously. "Maybe we should talk about the rest of this after school," suggested Kevin. "Beside, we still didn't get lunch yet." So they dropped the subject which eating and once the bell rang to dismiss them, they threw away their lunches and restated again that they were meeting after school. Little did they know that Brittany's predictions were true one way or another.
