In the Beautiful, Tropical Keys
Contest Entry, Take a visit to the southernmost tip of our nation

Lightning flashed on the horizon
Showing palm trees that swayed in the breeze.
As a storm approached the island
In the beautiful, tropical Keys.

Angry waves pounded the seawall
Like drumbeats, they would not be appeased.
Gulls flew to their nests ever screeching
In the beautiful, tropical Keys.

Morning found no major damage
To the shoreline or buildings or trees.
Another small squall had now passed us
In the beautiful, tropical Keys.

The sun shone on beautiful scenery;
Coral painted the lovely calmed seas.
Just another day called “Paradise”
In the beautiful, tropical Keys.
