An American Palette
What is the color of strength? Its subtle shades shine in the way that we stand, in a proudly held head, in the touch of a hand. What is the color of peace? Does it softly glow like the dawn's sun kissed skies? It's the soul's gentle smile that shines in our eyes. What is the color of freedom? Is it only shades of red, white, and blue? Under its surface you'll find a yearning heart's hue. What is the color of a nation? It is seen in its people's faces. White, red, brown, and yellow - a rainbow of races. Notes: An entry for Round 19 of "Pond Poetry" Prompt: July Form: Monchielle ~ The Monchielle is a poem that consists of four five-line stanzas where the first line repeats in each verse. Each line within the stanzas consists of six syllables, and lines three and five rhyme. The rhyme pattern is Abcdc Aefgf Ahiji Aklml. Thank you for taking time to read my words. I would appreciate it if you took a moment and left a comment. Your reaction, impressions, criticisms, - yes, even praise Ken
