You promised me the moon
and the everlasting shine
of the ever-glowing star
as you walked into my life.

You told me I would be able
to jump off of the ledge
and fly to nature's limit

as I drift off into the abyss
of the eternal leap
as if it would not end.

You promised me the shine
of the everlasting star.

You said I could go to the moon
to be closer as to where you are.

You promised it would be perfect,
as we stride together.

You promised you would stay,
you said it would last forever.
