A Stately Graveyard

Dead, decaying bodies,
Entombed in well-designed, wooden coffins,
Buried beneath the surface
Of a masterfully laid, tombstone-shrouded graveyard –
Careful, stylish grave markers remembering
The hearts, minds, and courageous efforts
Of the once-living souls
Who have yielded to Death,
Despite their cherished families’ trees.
The viral gravediggers
Continue to unearth receptive holes
In the common, yet stately graveyard,
As modern medicine seeks to stall Death’s arrival,
The inevitable, lurid, and frightful picture
We all face…
