GTTP-Lesson Six

Part I

1. The recipe said to bake the custard in a bain marie (a larger pan of water).

The TV chef said that placing the roast on a mire poix (a mixture of finely chopped    onions, celery and carrots) while cooking would add to it’s flavor.

2. The new University building was dedicated by the Prince of Wales (Prince Charles).

The show was a tribute to the Chairmen of the Board (Frank Sinatra).

3. As the power and wickedness of the Empire spread, less padwans were found to be 

      trained as Jedis.  Yoda became very concerned about their (the padwans) diminishing   

      numbers.   

      The Best of Show winner, Chipper, appeared pleased as he trotted around the ring.  It   

      was the third year in a row Chipper (the dog) had won.

4.  Mary and her twin sisters, Marcia and Mabel, went to the restaurant and she (Mary) ordered lamb.

Donald Duck took his nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louis, to Disneyland.  But he (Donald) didn’t want to go on any rides.

5. My nephew, Reed (RJ) Marrone, now resides with me.

Bruce (The Boss) Springsteen is from New Jersey.

6. While on vacation, we visited the Seattle (WA) Spaceneedle.

     

7. The cookie recipe called for a stick (1/2 cup) of butter.

      It also called for one tablespoon (three teaspoons) of baking soda.



Discussion Topic

         I don’t see why we (writers) shouldn’t have use of any or all the tools available for us.  I’m pretty sure that my use of the parenthesis in the last sentence is wrong, but I just could help myself.
