Sun Kissed
A (very) short story inspired by highly burnt sister. (contest entry)

The sun peaked as Melanie laid out her towel. 

She glared at the SPF70 that would ruin her hopes of getting any color.  Her friends were already tanned, while towheaded Melanie wasn't even slightly sun kissed.  Disregarding Mother's warning to lather up, Melanie ran into the ocean. 

An hour later she emerged to stares.  Was she tanned?  Melanie found a mirror and her reflection screamed.  She was sun kissed, just like a lobster.
