YOUR MANIC BIRD!

YOUR MANIC BIRD!

When we awoke at our new home
I heard a fearsome screech--
Our cat, peering out at the noise,
was afraid to take a peek!

This was your youthful, bedroom site-
and I could only guess
that some old, angry tortured bird
had come to show distress

at being taunted as a chick
and chased by you at night,
a quick young boy "just having fun'"
but causing birdie-fright!

So, now when you want ME to sleep
to give YOUR SOUL a rest,
just think of your poor manic bird
your constant morning guest!!
