BREAKING WEATHER

The heat was oppressive, sweltering. Black clouds towered on the horizon. Thunder rumbled as they poured forth, devouring the sun and clear blue sky with amazing speed. In minutes daylight became twilight. Lightning flashed, momentarily scouring the parched landscape. In the paddock, livestock shifted uneasily, eyes rolling as they snorted and stamped their fear. Lightning seared images on my retinas as I watched the storm’s approach.

And then, rain.
