Star Fairies

In verdant space dance spritely forms,

like fields of baby's breath filling the skies.

Oft times giddy with play they slip,

and fall to earth leaving trails of surprise.

Enter mischief makers alighting on window sills,

powdery white light illuminates the floors.

Gathering near firelit hearths and candles,

discovered, now exiting through chimneys and under doors.

With sad little ones watching their departure,

they are tempted to return and play.

Wanting not to be jar-caught in the future,

they wisely decide not to stay.

Come fly with us! Come dance with us!

Trails of sparkles where they've been.

Leaving tots and aged alike a vision,

of fairy worlds they've not yet seen.
