I Never Climbed Your Mountain
I remember, Noon one New Year's Eve, we stood beneath the Vast mountain of the Eiffel Tower and watched as Rows of tourists waited to ascend. Captivated by your Large iron arm, Immense in superiority and Made by the hands of men, Beckoned our chilled hearts, Enticing us to stand in line and brace the Droves of frozen motionless souls. Yet patience was no friend, and Over Lena bridge Under a poetic Paris sky we Rambled away from your towering beauty. Memories lie deep now, Of fragrant roasted chestnuts Under the Eiffel Tower that New years night, sunk In the arms of my lover, As we strolled merrily by the Seine In a peaceful silence thinking, I Never climbed your mountain. spb.
