This earthly body, I have shed,
And though to some it seems, I'm dead, I'm resting in the Savior's love Awaiting the time to rise above. For in the twinkling of an eye Changed I'll be...then, I will fly; To be at peace on Heaven's shore With God to live forevermore. When we shall shed this mortal pod We'll leave this life to be with God. No more sorrows, aches nor pains Are found in Heaven where our God reigns. It was on Calvary Jesus died. For sinners all, He was crucified. Through death He paid the ultimate price. His spotless life was sacrificed. He came to earth, His life to give. His blood was shed so we could live. And, how you ask, is all this true? What does a lost soul have to do? Admit the sins that you have done. Believe that Jesus is God's son. Confess your faith. On Christ, you'll lean! Your sins forgiven, He'll wash you clean. For through death's door, we all must pass. Our life has ended. We've breathed our last. Goodby to this world we have trod. Redeemed by Jesus, we'll live with God. Christ lived on earth, a sinless man. This was part of His Father's plan. He was crucified on Calvary, Then rose again--from death was free. The Savior promised He would return. For this we, as Christians, all should yearn. He'll come to resurrect the dead. The saints will rise, just as He said. And when the trumpet sounds aloud, The Son of Man comes in the clouds With great power and glory for all to see. We'll be with Him eternally. 40 lines
