Mother's Day
Poetry. Mother's Day shouldn't just be a day celebrated in May.

Each year in May we honor
The moms we hold so dear;
But shouldn't we be honoring
Them all throughout the year?

We sometimes take for granted
All the loving things they do;
And, oftentimes we are guilty
Of not saying "thank you".

This gentle soul has been there
Each moment since your birth.
She's nurtured and she's taught you,
That you should have self worth.

Even through the hard times
When growing pains caused strife,
She's been the force to guide you
Through this wilderness called life.

Sometimes the limitations
Placed on you seemed so unfair.
There was not a day that passed
That she failed to really care.

She's loved you for forever;
Since the first day you were born.
She'll love you 'til the end of time
When Gabriel blows his horn!

She's dried your tears and held you
Until all your storms had passed.
She beamed with pride when you excelled;
Even when you came in last.

Her tender heart's been broken;
Although this you never knew;
From thoughtless things you've said and done,
Yet, you never had a clue.

No instruction book came with you.
No plan to advise her how
To do the things that you needed,
But she managed still somehow.

Although she was not perfect,
And sometimes she had regrets,
She always was your mother
Even when she was upset.

So go to her this Mother's Day,
Show her the respect she's due.
Give her your love and don't forget
To say a big "Thank you!"
