Missionaries
Religious poetry. God calls us all to do mission work, but do we listen?

"Mission work," He whispered.
"Mission work?" I said.
"Go ye therefore to all the earth.."
Jesus' words had read.

"My child, why do you question?
I know what you can do.
Through Me all things are possible.
And, I have chosen you."

"But, Father, I'm not ready,
I don't know how to start.
What use am I, a layman,
And, preaching's not my art!

I cannot quote the Bible.
My speaking skills are slow."
There were ten thousand reasons
Of why I couldn't go.

But, oh, He was persistant!
He wouldn't let me pass.
And, just a few months later,
I was on my way at last.

God needed only workers
To do so many tasks.
Experience didn't matter.
It's willingness He asks.

You may not be proficient
Or eloquent indeed.
But, when He asks just listen.
He will supply your need.
