Walk With Me
Religious Poetry

"Walk with me," my Father said.
"Just share some time today."
But after school, and sports, and friends,
The time had slipped away.

"Walk with me," my Father said.
"Let's spend some time and talk."
But work created so much stress,
No time for just a walk.

"Walk with me," my Father said.
"I love you don't you see."
But civic club committees called,
No time was left for ME!

"Walk with me," my Father said.
"And, let me give you rest."
But working in my house and yard
Required my very best.

"Walk with me," my Father said.
"Your comfort I will be."
But life was filled with so much pain,
I didn't hear His plea.

"Walk with me," my Father said.
"Your burdens, I will share."
I did not listen to His voice;
No time to spend in prayer.

My life was filled with "living".
I had no time to give.
No time to grant to anyone,
I just had time to live!

My Father asked for only time
To worship and obey;
To walk with Him and share His love
To know His holy way.

And, now this life has ended--
The tolling of the bell--
No time was spent walking with Him
Now, I will walk in Hell!
