INTRODUCTION

Hello Rising Stars! June was another busy month for me - but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love keeping busy with writing and my wonderful WDC activities. Of course my 10 month old son makes it interesting (It took me a few days to write this newsletter!).

This newsletter is VERY important so make sure you read the entire thing!!

I also want to remind every one also to please put all of your review counts in one or two message posts in the forum. I know that not everyone does all three reviews at the same time, but you can edit a post your have already made by clicking on the post to view it, then click on ‘edit’. Or you can do what I do and save the usernames in a word document then copy and paste them all into one post when you’re done reviewing for the month! This makes it easier for me to keep the count for you all, instead of reading 5 posts for each individual review you did. I appreciate your help with this so that I make sure I keep an accurate count of your reviews each month!

NEW HAPPENINGS

The StoryMaster has given all of us a new reviewing tool. The reviewing box we're given for writing reviews includes a NEW option to select the name of the group we're affiliated with when we review. You'll see Rising Stars is now included. We hope all of our members will make use of the affiliation option when writing a review.

You must check the reviewing box asking to have your review appear on the public pages in order for it to be counted and for Rising Stars to be included on the list of most active reviewing groups on W.Com.

Now this new affiliation tool does not mean you can stop using the Rising Star sigs in your reviews. You still need to use them. Folks who look for our reviews don't see or pay much attention to reading the mult-group sigs. We must use our own sigs, so use our Rising Stars Member to Member sigs in all your reviews for this group. Do not use shared sigs anymore! Please make sure you use our Member to Member Sigs for each Rising Star review you do and that the Rising Stars name is clearly displayed. The sigs are provided for you in the Member to Member Review forum.

I have posted the full, entire list of ALL the members you have EVER reviewed in the Member-to-Member forum. This will help you keep track of who you reviewed already, since you only get credit for reviewing someone you have never reviewed before! I also have this tally in my portfolio if you would like to save it to your favorites list.

HOW TO

Each month, all Rising Stars are asked to do the following:

1) Review at least three new Stars that month whom you have not yet reviewed for Member-to-Member. To know whom you have reviewed before, the full tally is posted each month in the forum and it is also listed here: "Rising Stars Member to Member Tally" .

2) Post the usernames or full bitem links in the forum that is linked below. To find the person’s username, hold your mouse over the little portfolio icon next to their name. A little box will pop up and show their username. I need the username not the handle name that you normally see!! For bitem posting, type in {bitem:0000000} replacing the 0’s with the items ID number that you reviewed. Don’t forget the “b” at the beginning of the code or the or the code won’t work!!

3) Use one of the sigs provided in the forum in your review to be eligible to be considered as Reviewer of the Month and other awards.

4) Make the review public by selecting the option above the submit review button. This will also qualify you for Reviewer of the Month and other awards.

REMINDERS

Your reviews must be public and with one our sigs so that I can find them. To add a sig to your review, type {image:00000} replacing the 0’s with the image’s ID number.

The public review page only allows one sig per review. If you use multiple sigs, you must put our sig at the top of your review otherwise the image will not show up and I can’t find it.

Don't just write the words "For Rising Stars Member to-Member" somewhere in the review. Remember, I'm scrolling through 400 pages of reviews, looking for our sigs. I'm not reading every review out there. Without our sig, I won't find your review.

I know some of you review for other reviewing groups. If you want to use a combined sig that is fine - AFTER you use our sigs for your first 3 reviews!!

Don't just use one of your regular Rising Stars sigs. Lots of people use those on other reviews, so it still won't signal me that this is a Member-to-Member review. Use the ones in our Member-to-Member forum linked above.

Only make ONE post in the forum with a total of your reviews for each month. I do understand that you don’t review all at the same time, but please limit your total posts for the month to TWO. You can edit a post you already made by viewing the post then clicking on the “edit” link above the message. This will make it easier for me to count up the reviews for that month for your total tally.

We're hoping the awards will motivate high quality reviews. We're looking for substantive feedback that is honest, encouraging, and helpful. If you participate each month and put effort into your reviews, you'll probably get picked as Reviewer of the Month sooner or later. If you do less than 3 reviews in a month, they will still count towards your tally. You just won't qualify for the award that month. If you don't add the sig or make your review pubic, they will still count towards your tally. They just won't help you with the award that month. You won't be disqualified from the award just because you've reviewed the same member twice in the past or haven't linked in the past. Every month starts over fresh with a new chance to win.
