Bleed
A poem written RIGHT AFTER a panic attack. Pure emotion and feeling poured onto paper.

Bleed

Numb inside
can’t cry
though I try
to feel...
the pain is gone
and with that
the joy as well

Empty shell
plastered smile
blank slate
empty state
a hollow space...
where my heart once belonged

Numb inside
can’t cry
though I try
to feel...

I pierce my skin
to touch a nerve
awaken some sense
of what was forgotten
and what may remain

Yearning for a sense
of realness
I watch my self bleed
out of the horrid surreality...
that is my life, my mind, me

Numb inside
can’t cry
though I try
to heal....
