My husband and I went to see Public Enemies. Johnny Depp played John Dillinger. I love Johnny Depp. This man can play any character. He is the best! I was disappointed in the movie. John Dillinger spent a lot of time in Indiana and I live in Indiana. The movie didn't tell the audience where Dillinger was the whole time. We just had to guess. I knew when he was in Chicago robbing banks. I recogonized Crown Point, Indiana and so I knew he was in Crown Point in the movie. The lady in red turned him in to the FBI. The lady in red wore an orange skirt and white blouse. The movie needed to stick to facts. I read about John Dillinger on the internet and I read the book PUBLIC ENEMIES By: Bryan Burrough. It has a picture of Johnny Depp as John Dillinger on the cover and he does look good! I wish I had the movie poster of this. This book is about gangsters which is a good book by the way. The author did his homework. The FBI in the movie. All they wanted to do was make a name for themselves. They are supposed to care about people not just themselves. I love the movie and I will buy it when it comes out on DVD. I have the Bonnie and Clyde movie. I like gangsters. I don't approve of what they did but in the Depression Era, people were hungry and desperate. I can understand why a lot of gangsters robbed bank. I don't think they needed to kill people but gangsters did that. Bonnie and Clyde, Pretty Boy Floyd, Machine Gun Kelly, Ma Barker and sons, Al Capone and Baby Face Nelson. These gangsters I find interesting as well as John Dillinger. Bonnie and Clyde were in love but were busy robbing banks and running from the law. They were too busy to get married. I wouldn't want a life of crime. Bonnie was a waitress and bored with her life. She met Clyde and had adventures. Machine Gun Kelly's wife pushed him into a life of crime. Pretty Boy Floyd had a wife and children but he, like the rest of the gangsters was busy running from the law and robbing banks. He didn't see his wife and kids much. Pretty Boy Floyd was a friend of Clyde Barrow. Al Capone was a bank robber as well. Gangsters. They were infamous in the 1930's and no one will ever forget them.

John Dillinger and Al Capone supposedly had hide outs in Indiana. My Great Grandparents lived in Indiana like my parents and I do. John Dillinger had a small house{on the land my husband's uncle owned!} around the corner from my Great Grandparents and he stayed there doing bank robberies. My Great Grandparents never bothered him but Dillinger would drive by. Dillinger would wave or tip his hat as he drove past. Wow!

Al Capone used to bury dead bodies in an area close by known as The Red Bush. It is out in the country surrounded by woods. My Doctor lives out there and he claims he saw strange images in the field near by. My Grandfather knew a man who knew Al Capone's mechanic in Chicago. The mechanic never asked any questions. He just fixed Al Capone's car and Al Capone paid him . I found these stories interesting.

Gangsters. They had their day but like I said earlier, the world will never forget them! If you get a chance to see "Public Enemies", do so. It is good in spite of the movie not having their facts straight. Hollywood is out to make a buck.
