Fairie Rings
The Summer Solstice is cause for celebration among the fairie folk.

There's evidence that they were here
in glens of gold and green
where ground is duly trampled on
by countless feet unseen.

Yellow in the middle ripples out to emerald green,
a thousand skittish entities had danced where grass had been.

'Neath flickering light of fireflies
to cricket symphonies,
contributing their voices
to a sweet cacophony
for summers come and summers gone
the Solstice marks the date
when throngs of ancient fairie folk
come forth to celebrate.

When Luna finally tired,
she smiled and took a bow,
and Sol burst forth in colors
to disperse the frenzied crowd.

Yellow in the middle ripples out to emerald green,
and mushrooms grow for each of those who danced where grass had been.
