A Simple, Stress-free Life
        by Di-Back to school!  (dstaley@Writing.Com)
My life
Lies Simple
Clean as a tide swept sandbar
Empty as the Tucson sky on a summer day
Devoid of stress
Too peaceful.

I’ve built it peaceful
I sought a quiet life
Straining out stress
And stressing simple
Now I live a long and heavy day
As though I’m stranded on a sandbar.

Not a seal lounging on a sandbar
A picture truly peaceful
Instead, I’m trapped the live long day
Watching as my life
Renders me simple
But there is no stress.

I used to thrive in stress
Diving off my sandbar
And nothing was simple
I feel I am too peaceful
Giving the kiss of death to life
Letting time dribble away, day by day.

In mindless repetition wasting the day
Avoiding any stress
Avoiding life
Marooned on my sandbar
All tombs are peaceful
Avoidance is simple.

The equation is simple
At the end of the day
My bed fails to feel peaceful
The loss pulls me into stress
Trapped on this barren sandbar
I have no life.

Reviewing this sham of a life at the end of the day
Pills make simple the numbing of stress
I settle on my sandbar, appearing peaceful.
