He left
He left me alone With my body not treasured by his touch My mind is full of matter for him; Weeping and lamenting About the love I have for this son of Adam. My heart is full of sufferance and grieves What is worse, I’m bankrupt of a soul The free spirit to be loved by another My eyes have become a cloud annoyed with rain. He destroyed my happiness with a single word Bye, it was he said He closed my nose; so I couldn’t breathe Then I died Is that his fashion? To leave when the going gets tough? “Sweep on with your life”, I am told But it is everything but a piece of cake. All that remains are memories And dreams we had together But here I am with a broken heart A broken spirit Broken hopes and broken dreams
