The Fallen’ Angel
Being an angel is not so much fun Maybe you think so but then, you ain’t one. I’m just a small one; a messenger dude But some of the pranksters just like to be rude. Just like today sitting at the feet of my boss The clouds opened up and I was quite at a loss. What do I do, and where are my feet. Never mind my feet, what about my seat? I began to fall through that hole in the sky, I was falling and falling and didn’t know why. My head was spinning and my arms were flailing As through the atmosphere I continued sailing. Far down below I saw you were eating A bowl of soup I saw you were heating. I fell and I fell and landed Ker plop In your steaming bowl I did suddenly drop. That fly in your soup was not really a fly It was me in distress when I let out a cry. Then suddenly I remembered my wings And flew back through the sky and all sorts of things. I arrived back home to applause from the staff The pranksters among them all had quite a laugh. Sorry about the angel hair in your soup But after my fright, your lucky it wasn’t ….something else. 14 July 2009
