I Steal the Morning I steal words each morning as the sun sneaks up from darkness Words barely whispered in the nearly night while I await the catching of the day I breath them slowly with my soul's warm whispers Sweet nothings cast into the space between your body and mine I steal glances as you rise to sit, pulling our covers around your shoulders soft Glances quietly sneaking in your direction lest you think them rude and chide them for their speaking I blush to spy the skin of your soft body right there where your breast curves into your side Sweet skin I’ve touched and always touch anew I steal sighs as you rise to shower humming some melody made for my heart Sighs too small for sound and barely a breath -- a soft refrain to to your morning I break out smiling as you close the bathroom door -- 'til you return And sweet to sweet our sweetness steals the day
