Form: Rondelet This poem is a French form consisting of a single septet (seven lines) with two rhymes and one refrain written in iambic meter: AbAabbA. The capital letters are the refrains, or repeats. The refrain is written in tetra-syllabic (four syllables) and the other lines are twice as long--octasyllabic or tetrameter (eight syllables). ![]() Mouths open wide, Clowns and concessions--the Midway. Mouths open wide, Impatiently, our time we bide. For candy of air our tongues play, Flavor that melts and lasts all day. Mouths open wide.
