Passing
Rated: ------ | Poetry | Emotional | #1582982
Poem written when I learned of the death of a friend's loved one.
When someone passes it's hard to know
Where to put our profound sorrow
We search for answers to satisfy
The empty, infinite questions why
Why do people have to die?
Why is it I want to cry?
Why is life now not worth living?
Why must I still go on giving?
Why is this a penalty?
Why can't you just let me be?
Leave me to my saddened heart
Stop the tears before they start
Don't let all the others know
I'll tie my pain up with a bow
Then no one will ever see
How Death is affecting me
