A little ways ahead
one of the brief times i had hope

In this land where the moon ever sleeps
And winter lords greedily upon the land
Where the dead frames of trees have never seen the light
Where the wind creates demons of snow who dance and leap
A stranger smiles at the blackened sky
His face marred by a knowing eye
In his hand is a single star
A star that burns bright with emotion
Holding it close hands cupped as it flickers
To guide him through the dark
And alone he walks
But now there is hope
That one awaits him on the path ahead
With a star of her own
Forged of emotions
And willing to share
