UNNAMED

I remember those feelings
the softness exploring tips
and reflections held,
cast in that first kiss.

"Hold me…like this," you said
oh, adolescent amiss
A book of wordless pages
tender and blank.

The bounce in your talk
the swing and freshness of your stare
playfully tossed in the pacific’s breeze
on an island night.

They way your smirk pulled
an outgoing tide drawing
sand from beneath my feet

A name forever known to me
chapter after chapter I read
now filled with California dreams.
