Though infinitely more, and supremely much less,
Is always still more, this was such a big mess –
For Margaret the Egret had sought ably to bless
Her newfound soul mate, and there’d be no duress!

She’d had quite a journey, enduring much strife,
Flying tens of miles to become his wife.
Joseph knew marriage wouldn’t cut like a knife –
This nonexistent dagger, this love of his life…

But Margaret the Egret knew love and hate,
Had a casual inkling that both would be great.
Still she hoped Joe would help clear the slate,
So she offered to herself to explore her new mate!

Margaret once counted on this gentleman’s reprieve,
But she kept thinking of him, and why didn’t he leave…
Finding her Joe was too difficult to conceive,
So she planned to break up with him, listening to Steve…

Joe always spoke plainly with words that were clever,
Was always so cheerful, obliging, and never
Seemed to get angry or displeased with her ever,
And always promised that he’d never deceive her.

Margaret the Egret did what her Steve said –
She broke up with Joseph, instead of seeing the red.
She took care of her friends, like Steve, without dread,
Rather proud of herself and the life that she led!

Love is adorned, like a beautiful sculpture,
Through gifts that giving and receiving will spur.
The anger of a loved one, we will not incur,
When respect for one another, our plans do concur.
