Contest Entry, 40+ Lyrics Contest
(To the tune of "Daydream Believer" by the MONKEES) Oh, I could once run a race Breathlessness, there’d be no trace, It made no difference I could keep the pace But now I find that isn’t true And my running days are few ‘Cause now I’d just fall flat on my face! Aging, it can seem, So much like a dream Was only yesterday that I was in my teens. Now I wake to find Without glasses I am blind Hearing well’s not something I can do My hair has come and went And my money now is spent On doctors, pills and tubes of dental glue. Aging, it can seem, So much like a dream Was only yesterday that I was in my teens. Aging, it can seem, So much like a dream Was only yesterday that I was in my teens.
