Assignment 7-17-2009 Paragraph 1

"I walked across the yard to get my horse. He was tethered to the fence by the barn. I wanted to ride out to Possum Lake and knew it would take four hours of riding in the dessert so I packed extra water and made sure I knew where water could be found if we got lost or stranded."

1) The reason you are going is to rescue a damsel in distress -- and you only have about 4 hours to do it.

I crossed the courtyard in three long strides. My noble steed stood in full gear, tethered to the fence by the massive stables. His eyes flashed as he caught my determined attitude. Four hours was all the time we had to reach Possum Lake before they sacrificed her to the beast. The burning lands separated me from her. I consulted my map; there was no time for mistakes. Four water bladders hung from the saddle two more than normal. I had to plan for every possibility. Jumping into the saddle and riding off, I knew her fate lay in my hands.
