Assignment 7-17-2009 Paragraph 2
Paragraph 2

This item requires reviews with ratings.

"I walked across the yard to get my horse. He was tethered to the fence by the barn. I wanted to ride out to Possum Lake and knew it would take four hours of riding in the dessert so I packed extra water and made sure I knew where water could be found if we got lost or stranded."

Now you try re-writing the paragraph with the following two prompts:

2) The reason you are going is because you are being sent to Possum Lake to (again) check on the cabin -- which to your mind is nothing but "make due" work given to you because you are 17 and not yet a real "cow boy" - or girl if you like.

I moseyed across the pasture to where my only friend waited. "Check the Cabin," how naive did they think I was? Dale raised his head from the green grass he had been cropping upon my approach. He nuzzled my pocket looking for the sugar cube I usually had for him. When he didn’t find one he went back to cropping the grass. I lengthen his tether while I prepared for the ride ahead. It would do no good to make this trip just to kill my horse or myself along the way. They might think of me as ‘to young – only 17’, I would prove them wrong! I checked the maps again plotting my course. I grabbed every extra canteen just in case anything was to happen, AS IF, and left climbed in to the saddle. I would do all there silly little chores, I would prove I was just as good if not better than any of our other ranch hands.
