A Mothers Pride

He's thirty-five and on his own
This brown haired man I see
Cool and collected
No longer a little boy is he
His childhood was simple
His love for animals a need
Not a bird, a snake or even a dog
Went unnoticed did I see
Years of school, did he finish
College come and gone
His dreams became the reality
Never to be undone
He worked hard to see that he finished
To make his family proud
Of the dreams that he accomplished
Not once complaining out loud
And when he laid his mother to rest
His tears came pouring down
He knew that he had succeeded
In making his mother proud.
