It’s storming outside
The thunder is rumbling I’m stuck in the house And I’m really grumbling. I thought I would spend Some time watching TV But, I have just found There’s no power, you see. Internet access Is unplugged for the day And at the moment There’s no games I can play. Conveniences gone, Oh, what then will I do? I am dependent On technology, too. Don’t know how I’ll pass Away such a long time I have forgotten Days that were so sublime. Days of my youth spent Curled up tight with a book Lightning was flashing Yet, no notice I took. When tired of reading The book now on my lap I’d just close my eyes Take a long restful nap. Memories flash by That remind me to keep Some time for myself. Think I’ll go to sleep! 32 lines
