My Pharaoh
No greater love was there in all of Ancient Egypt.

My Pharaoh

Tributes of love and honor lie,
Among the hot and wavy sand.
So their memory would not die,
Birthed in ancient Egypt’s land.

Skyward bricks tower high above,
The desert horizon barren and dry,
Telling romantics of a Nile-born love,
Shared in temples from ages gone by.

Though I may have no laboring men,
A monument I will build yet for you.
With tales and memories put to pen,
Telling of love that was purest and true.

The sands of time could never consume,
The love we shared beyond measure,
It excels the golden and jeweled tombs,
Filled with Ancient Egypt’s treasure.

I have kept the memories that you gave,
Hidden in my heart and they are priceless.
They rival the tombs in the valley of kings,
And the temple of the great goddess Isis.

You were my pharaoh , I was your queen,
Our temples were each other’s being.
Beauty we shared was as if from a dream,
Reborn in this poem you are reading.
