The gunshot rang out, echoing from mountains. Before me, the deer crumpled, legs folding beneath her in slow motion. She tumbled to the ground, majestic even in death. Blood dripped slowly, pooling, then absorbed into arid soil. Furious, I leapt at the hunter, tearing the rifle from his hands and turning it on him. BANG!
