Urdu:  Hoie taakheer toe kuchh baais e taakheer bhee tha
          Aap aatay thay magar koie anaangeer bhee tha

English:=== Oh, whenever you came to this silly hack
                  Someone was always holding you back
                                          -

Urdu:  Tum say baija hay mujhay apni tabaahi ka gila
          Us maen kuchh sha'iba e khoobi e taqdeer bhee tha

English:=== Not all's your fault, my lovely mate
                  A part of the problem is also my fate
                                            -

Urdu:  Too mujhay bhool gaya ho toe pata batla doun
          Kabhee fitraak maen taeray koie nakhcheer bhee tha

English:=== And if you've forgotten, I'd like to say
                  That once, when hunting, I became your prey
                                            -

Urdu:  Qayd maen hay teray wehshi ko wohi zulf ki yaad
          Haan kuchh ik ranj e garaanbaari e zangeer bhee tha

English:=== And though as a captive I like to complain
                  Of your golden braid I so love the chain
                                            -

Urdu:  Bijli ik kond gaie aankhoun kay aagay toe kya
          Baat kertay keh maen labtishna e taqreer bhee tha

English:=== Your lightening words, they give me a shock
                  But, darling, I love to hear you talk
                                              -

Urdu:  Yusuf us ko kahoun aur kuchh na kahay, khair hoie
          Ger bigarh baithhay toe maen laaiq e taazeer bhee tha

English:  You've beauty of Joseph whenever I say
              You feel so slighted that I feel dismay
                                              -

Urdu:  Daekh ker ghair ko kuin ho na kalaija thhanda
          Naala kerta tha walay taalib e taaseer bhee tha

                  And not succeed and cry and cry

Urdu:  Paishay maen aib naheen, rakhiay na Farhaad ko naam
          Hum hi aashuftasaroun maen wo jawaanmeer bhee tha

English:=== I know I'm crazy, my plight is sad
                  But I'm like Romeo and he was mad
                                                -

Urdu:  Hum thay mernay ko khharhay, paas na aaya na sahi
          Aakhir us shoukh kay tarkash maen koie teer bhee tha

English:=== I'm willing to die; so use your dart
                  And let it go and strike my heart
                                                -

Urdu:  Pakrhay jaatay haen farishtoun kay likhhay per naahaq
          Aadmi koie hamaara dam e tehreer bhee tha

English:  On the Judgment Day when angels I'll face
              I'll need a lawyer to plead my case
                                                -

Urdu:  Raikhtay kay tum hi ustaad naheen ho GHALIB
          Kehtay haen aglay zamaanay maen koie Meer bhee tha
