Summer vacation has passed
Days of freedom are through Now it’s time for teachers and class And homework I hate to do! I knew that summer would end So would my carefree life. I don’t want to go back to school! It causes me too much strife! Summertime is lots of fun; Relaxing all day long. Why is it that summer feels right, And classes really feel wrong? My mom says I have to go. Crying simply won’t work. She even says it will be fun, And, I’d best not be a jerk! She took me to buy new clothes, New Nikes, tees and socks. I even got a cool lunch bag And a great backpack that rocks! I guess when tomorrow comes I will be out the door Headed for this year’s boring class Studying forevermore! I’ll be in school five whole days. So only two are left To fill with things I like to do. School’s stealing my time! It's theft! It is a quarter to nine. I have to get a bath. If I am not in bed on time I will feel my mother’s wrath! There’s no way around this thing! I will just have to go I will be counting all the days 'Til summer returns, you know! 36 lines
