Notes. A Tanka is an old japanese form normally consisting of 31 syllables usually written in 5lines, 5-7-5-7-7. Usually each line consists of one image and the lines can flow seamlessly into one thought. Tanka intends to evoke a moment or occasion with a musical touch.

A haiku is a japanese form of traditionally 17 syllables or less written in 3 lines, 5-7-5 and is mostly about nature and in present terms, written in a moment as you see or feel it.
