Urdu:  Too dost kisi ka bhee sitamger na hua tha
          Auroun pay hay wo zulm keh mujh per na hua tha

English:=== Everyone loves her but loves she none
                  In this my rivals and I are one
                                            -

Urdu:  Chhorha meh e nakhshap ki terheh dast e qaza nay
          Khursheed hunooz us kay baraber na hua tha 

English:=== Oh, my gal is like the harvest moon
                  And she has more shine than the sun at noon
                                              -

Urdu:  Toufeeq ba andaaza e himmat hay azal say
          Aankhoun maen hay wo qatra keh gohar na hua tha

English:=== I've lost my courage; I've lost my power
                  But tears like pearls I still can shower
                                              -

Urdu:  Jab tak keh na daekha tha qad e yaar ka aalam
          Maen moetaqid e fitna e mehsher na hua tha

English:=== She's tall and slim like a cypress tree
                  And a riot she causes wherever is she
                                                -

Urdu:  Maen saadadil aazurdagi e yaar say khush houn
          Yaani sabaq e shouq mukerrar na hua tha 

English:=== And when she gives me sorrow and pain
                  I'm strangely happy; I do not complain
                                                  -

Urdu:  Darya e ma'asi tunakaabi say hua khushk
          Maera ser e daaman bhee abhee ter na hua tha

English:  On the mercy of God I totally rely
              For no one has sinned as much as I
                                                  -

Urdu:  Jaari thi ASAD daagh e jiger say meri tehseel
          Aatishkada jaagir e samander na hua tha
