NEW PROMPT: I've been spending a lot of time rewriting a novel I wrote for NaNoWriMo. Not the easiest undertaking. But it got me thinking.... Write a short story or poem about the characters of a novel you are rewriting deciding you aren't the person who should be telling their story. How do they get your attention, and what do they do to stop you???? LITTLE WOMEN NO MORE! (with sincere apologies to Louisa May Alcott!!) We know that you used to love us-- and we're sure that you still do, but when you tried to re-tell us, we honestly never knew what you even meant to say in your efforts to rewrite on our family's daily play. and our story's quaint delight! So, we met deep in Heaven's glow, took a vote on our response and we thought it fair you should know that the fam'ly looks askance at the travesty you've made up!! You were clever with your wit! We were not "always in our cups," and that's absolute truth of it! Tomboy Jo's justly indignant; Sweetest Amy's hopping mad! Gentle Meg says that you just can't make our loving past look bad! We demand hasty retraction or else, you will quickly see, very swiftly we will haunt one who shuns our integrety! We are litle women no more, and demand our due respect for the place history affords to us; please be more circumspect!
