Time marches on
The force relentless.

Time marches on.

Continents commiserate,
oceans overwhelming.
There is a hole in the ozone.
The Arctic melting.
Disastrous deforestation.
Mountains crumble
under the dead weight
of man’s desecration.
Time, the silent mover
stands witness,
to a shameful history.

Eons of prideful, rich past
trampled upon, crushed under
the abomination of aggression,
the irony of civilizing mission.
The specter of death’s dance,
changing destinies, brings on
a changeless hellish fate of
bloodbath and massacre,
falsifying religion and faith.
Time, the relentless force,
marches on, untouched.

Too much money,
too many worries.
Unnatural marriages
boorish independence.
Teenage maladies,
gunshots in schools.
Incurable loneliness,
increasing divorces,
family bonds in a shambles.
Yet,time marches on,
indefatigable.

Useless sermons,
power politics,
crazy ambitions,
suicidal ventures
money matters,
cynical lives,
strong prejudices,
racial discrimination
equality in smithereens.
If only the marching time inspired
the mankind, to be as unblemished, as detached!
